We bought our Erkinger Home in May of 2004.  After deciding to settle down in Lake City, we located a realtor and started looking for a home.  The first house that we were shown was our Erkinger “Home.”  It was under construction and about 3 weeks from completion.    We looked at several other houses after this one but “none” even came close to the quality that we saw built into it.  It was the perfect fit for us.  We signed the contract before that day was over! 

We downsized from a 3000 sq. ft. custom built home to a 1930 sq. ft spec home and we have basically the same comforts. The cost was the key to the sale!  Low cost with high quality, what more could a home buyer want!!  After living in the home for over 5 years, everything works like new; nothing is cracking or falling off or out of date: just low maintenance living!

We’ve thought of moving several times and we would, if we could take this house with us.   Obviously we can’t but if we did, I’ve got Matthew’s phone number and we would have no other contractor build our new home.

We have lived in our home now for about 6 months and I love it, the ceramic tile work in our home is beautiful, there is so much detail. My mother dreamed of building a new home for years and in 2008 decided to just do it. The search for a builder started but, no one paid attention to her needs, they only gave their views on what they thought she should build. The search continued until we found Erkinger Home Builders, when I told mom where we were going as luck would have it she knew the Erkingers. I thought Fantastic!! It really was fantastic! We went to talk home construction and guess what Mr. E actually listened to us and he and Brandi made suggestions in line with moms needs and price range, and were extremely professional. They also noted my concern for mom in such an important endeavor because, I am in the Air Force stationed in Wichita, KS and would not be around to keep an eye on things. Mr. E told me not to worry. Good thing! Because when I returned to my base I found out I was deploying to Iraq. Guess what? While I was deployed Brandi emailed pictures and sent updates on the construction process, it not only helped me see the progress of the house, but it was so awesome to receive these emails with encouraging messages from home. Thanks Brandi! Finally, I came to Lake City to see the finished product. I cannot describe how I felt when I saw the house it was better than I could have imagined. There were architectural details that I never expected i.e. moldings, columns, plant shelves, alcoves and the use of quality materials was a plus as well. They also provided landscaping references, they left nothing to chance. Erkinger took us from the dream of a new home to seeing it realized. Erkinger Home Builders made this the easiest, most worry free, and professional experience. We can not thank them enough!!

Several weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon the 200 amp power service coming into our house was compromised and we had a complete power failure. I tried all Saturday afternoon to get in touch with an electrician, with no success. Sunday morning I stopped by Mr. Erkinger’s home and told him about my problem. He gave me the name of the electrician he uses and suggested I give him a call.  I called the electrician; he came over to my house, surveyed the damage and said if he could get the parts he could repair the damage. The electrician called the owner of an electrical supply house and the owner agreed to go to the business and open it up so he could get the materials. The electrician returned to my home and by late Sunday evening had restored full electrical power. This service was truly above and beyond any service I have ever had. The gentleman took most of the day Sunday, that I’m sure he would have rather devoted to his family to help me in a time of need. 

The service I received is an excellent example of the professionalism, concern and dedication one can expect from any project undertaken by Erkinger Home Builders.

When we decided to find a new home in Lake City we spent several days looking at houses in all areas of the county. A local Realtor helped us narrow the search to about a
dozen homes for us to visit and inspect. We saw a number of homes that were "all right." When we walked in the Erkinger Home Builders home on Kelly Lake Court in Emerald Lakes we knew immediately that we had found our new home. The tall ceilings, the upgraded kitchen and the tile master bath with whirlpool tub sold us. The quality construction was evident as soon as we walked in the door. The floor plan, an Erkinger original, is not the typical cookie-cutter plan. Everyone who comes inside marvels at how open and airy our home is. We are thrilled with our brand new home. Matthew Erkinger built my custom home last year. I am a customer who brought him a sketch of a house plan from a magazine and said "Matthew, can you build this for me?"
